Baku / 07.12.17 / Turan: The Yasamal district court completed the investigation in the case of youth activist Giyas Ibrahimov and his father Hasan Ibragimov, accused of not respecting the court. At the beginning of the trial the judge Huseyn Safarov said that the judges of Baku Appellation Court (BAC) Mamedov, Gasimov and Bayramov sent telegrams that "for a good reason" they could appear at the trial. However, the Ibrahimovs"lawyer , Elchin Sadigov, objected to this. He pointed out that the testimony of all three judges to the investigation "is identical up to commas and points." Moreover, between the testimony and the video recording made at the trial of Giyas Ibrahimov there are inconsistencies, added the defender.

"For example, the judges say that Hasan Ibrahimov called them "the son of a scoundrel". But, it follows from the videos that such an expression did not sound there," Sadigov said, and again asked for a call to the trial of the judges. However, the judge Safarov did not satisfy the petition.

Then the defendants Giyas and Hasan Ibrahimov gave testimonies.

"I'm mentally and psychologically tired of this calumny and injustice that my son, our family, has run into. My protest against the injustice of the judge was a cry of despair. Where is your justice when a helpless woman is pushed out of the apartment and a kilo of drugs is planted into the house? drugs? And then I told the judges in the Court of Appeal that, even with their children, the same thing can happen, so that they understand what feelings we are experiencing," said Hasan Ibragimov. Giyas Ibrahimov, in turn, said that he did not show "disrespect for the court". On the contrary, the judge Mammadov violated his rights, depriving him of the opportunity to speak.

"I just ripped out the microphone in protest. If there was an offense, then Judge Vugar Mammadov made it, not allowing me to speak," Giyas Ibrahimov said. At the end of the meeting, it was announced that the trial was over. The prosecutor's speech is scheduled for December 12.

* The father and son Ibrahimovs are charged under Article 289.2 (disrespect for the judge) of the Criminal Code.

The criminal case was started in connection with the incident on June 5 of this year in the Baku Court of Appeal, when Giyas Ibrahimov tore off a microphone that was in the glass cage during the public prosecutor's speech (Giyas Ibrahimov and Bairam Mammadov were sentenced to 10 years of imprisonment on charges of drug trafficking, after they wrote political slogans on the monument to Heydar Aliyev). This happened after the judge ignored the calls of Giyas that he did not hear anything.

Judicial warders entered the cage and shackled Ibrahimov in handcuffs, using brute force. The outraged father of the activist protested, urging the judge to stop the violence. "There will come a day when this will happen to your children," he exclaimed.

The judges of the Baku Appeals Court Vugar Mammadov, Aflatun Gasimov and Amir Bayramov saw this as disrespect for themselves.-06D--
