Baku / 25.12.17 / Turan: The Former Defense Minister of Azerbaijan Rahim Gaziyev was detained in the park opposite the Narimanov subway station in Baku on December 25. He was taken to the 17th police station of the Narimanov District Police Department. Turan was informed about this by his brother Rahab Gaziyev.

"Today (December 25) about 20:00 I got a call from the 17th department and was told that my brother is there," Rahab Gaziyev said. He arrived at the 17th police station and there he was confirmed the detention of the ex-minister in this institution. Rahab Gaziyev was advised to come on December 26 at 10.00. But he was not informed about the reasons for Rahim Gaziyev's detention.

A group of human rights activists arrived at the office together with Rahab Gaziyev. Law enforcement agencies do not provide any information about Rahim Gaziyev's detention.

Rahim Gaziyev was among the leaders of the Popular Front established in 1989. From March 1992 to February 1993, Rahim Gaziyev served as the Minister of Defense of Azerbaijan. -06D-
