The court did not satisfy the appeal petition of Afgan Mukhtarli
Baku/14.07.17/Turan: On July 14, under the chairmanship of Judge Vagif Mursagulov, the Baku Appeal Court examined the complaint of journalist Afgan Mukhtarly. According to lawyer Elchin Sadigov, the complaint was against the decision of the Nasimi court on July 6. It's about refusing to accept the complaint about the illegal search of Afghan Mukhtarly on May 29 this year, illegal interference in the phone, whatsapp, facebook, e-mail, personal accounts. At today's court session, the judge upheld the first instance court's decisions. Afgan Mukhtarly himself participated in the trial, according to the lawyer. The lawyer said, his client's health deteriorated even more, the pains in the stomach intensified.
"Yesterday, an employee of the Ombudsman's Office met with him, but he did not render any assistance in the matter of heating food under the conditions of the cell," said the lawyer. According to him, all instances of local courts have been passed, in the next few days Mukhtarly's complaint will be sent to the European Court. To receive any comment in the Office of the Ombudsman failed. Last week, Iftikhar Gurbanov, the deputy chief of the Main Medical Department of the Ministry of Justice, sent a letter to the lawyer of the arrested journalist, in which it was written that Mukhtarly seriously lacks health problems. -16D04-
