Baku / 12.01.18 / Turan: An elderly woman found in Goranboy in December, who introduced herself as the 104-year-old Chechen woman Medina Aliyeva, was sent to Chechnya last night.
She was found in the street by police officers on December 23. She was transferred to the district hospital, and three days later the NGO Clean World sent her to the shelter.
In early January, the woman was transferred to the Mother Teresa's Sisters orphanage at the Catholic church in Baku, where there are conditions for caring for the elderly.
The woman could not clearly explain how she was in Goranboy. According to her, she was taken to a pilgrimage to Karbala , Iraq by two women, but left in Goranboy.
She said she was Chechen by nationality and was born in Dagestan in 1913. The woman wanted to be sent to Chechnya.
The Ministry of Internal Affairs of Azerbaijan sent relevant inquiries to Chechnya and Dagestan, from which it came back that they do not have registered persons with such data.
In turn, the State Border Service of Azerbaijan reported that a woman named Madina Aliyeva did not enter the country.
At the same time, the leadership of Chechnya expressed its readiness to accept the woman.
Last night, Medina Aliyeva, accompanied by representatives of Chechnya, was sent to Russia, Vadim Dombrovsky, assistant to the head of the shelter Mother Teresa's Sisters, told Turan.
"The issue was resolved. I thank the active assistance of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Azerbaijan, the Russian Embassy in Baku, and representatives of the local Chechen Diaspora," he said, adding that the Russian embassy issued a temporary document for her to cross the border. -06B-
