Baku/16.01.18/Turan: A resident of the village of Khosrov of the Agdash region, Hasanaga Sohbatov committed an act of self-immolation on the 16th of January in the regional center. It is noted that the suicide attempt was made on the basis of a dispute with a traffic police officer. According to Lent.az, Hasanaga Sohbatov ran a VAZ 2105 passenger car with state license plates 10 LS 956 without power of attorney. The previous owner of the car Mikail Huseynov owed to the bank 1660 manats, for this reason the vehicle was arrested by the Agdash court.
The road police officer wanted to take the car to the police station of the Agdash region on the basis of a court decision. In turn, Hasanaga Sohbatov said that he is not responsible for the debts of the previous owner to the bank. As a result, Sohbatov did not obey the demand of the policeman. After the argue with the police he set fire to himself.
The incident took place in front of the central market of the region. The fire was extinguished with the assistance of nearby citizens and police officers. Sohbatov himself was taken to the Central Hospital of the Agdash region. There were burns on his head, face and hands. In the hospital they said that there was no danger to Sohbatov's life. However, more than 20% of his body was badly affected.
A few days ago a similar incident took place in the Goychay region. The Principal of school N9, Akif Garibov, attempted to commit suicide right in front of the school building, cutting an artery. He was hospitalized, and said that he did it because he was extorted a great amount of money. The Public Prosecutor's Office of Goychay is investigating this incident.
On January 9, Ragif Zeynalov, a resident of the village of Sherefe in the Masalli region, committed self-immolation in front of the regional court building. First he was taken to the regional hospital, and then to one of the Baku clinics. Close relatives said that the reason for the suicide attempt was the fact of withdrawing 50 manat from Zeynalov's card by the decision of the regional court.
