Combat Religious Extremism with Joint Efforts

Baku / 17.01.18 / Turan: An interdepartmental Action Plan to Combat Religious Extremism was signed in 2018, the report circulated by the State Committee for Work with Religious Organizations said.

The plan was developed jointly by the State Committee, the Ministry of Internal Affairs, the Prosecutor General's Office and the State Security Service.

The document provides for holding seminars on religious extremism and the factors causing it. They will discuss the state-religion relations, threats in the religious sphere, and sources of religious extremism.

Along with this, an exchange of views on the legal bases for combating extremism, encouraging the atmosphere of a multicultural environment and traditions of tolerance, and cooperation between representatives of various religions and confessions is expected. -05D06-
