Baku / 14.10.19 / Turan: On Monday, a meeting was held between Azerbaijani President Ilham Aliyev and Hungarian Prime Minister Viktor Orban, who arrived in Baku to attend the summit of the Council of Turkic-Speaking States.
Hungary has observer status in the Turkic Council.
During the meeting with Orban, Aliyev noted the successful development of bilateral relations. The President of Azerbaijan expressed confidence that the visit of Orban will give a new impetus to the partnership between the two states.
Orban called the prospects for bilateral economic cooperation "encouraging" and gratefully recalled how Azerbaijan helped Hungary 10 years ago, when the country faced financial difficulties.
The meeting praised Hungary's support for expanding cooperation between Azerbaijan and the European Union, and exchanged views on cooperation in the economic, trade, energy and other fields. -06D-
