The family of a political prisoner stated the deterioration of his heath
Baku/04.11.19/Turan: Despite serious health problems of Eldar Bunyatov, a convict for Nardaran events, he is not transferred to the medical institution of the Prison Service, said the relatives of the convict.
A 68-year-old Bunyatov, was detained five days after a special operation in Nardaran on November 26, 2015. In court, he claimed torture after being detained and broken ribs.
Subsequently, he was sentenced to 12.5 years in prison under several articles of the Criminal Code.
Human rights activists recognized him, as well as other persons involved in the Nardaran affair, as a political prisoner.
In prison, he developed a kidney disease. His vision is worsening due to exacerbation of diabetes. He suffers from heart disease, and walks with difficulty.
Doctors of the Penitentiary Service Medical Institution examined Bunyatov in jail No. 7 a week ago and recommended that he be hospitalized urgently. However, the prescription of the doctors was not executed.
No explanation is provided to the convicted family. The family filed a complaint with the leadership of the Prison Service, and intends to appeal to the Baku office of the International Committee of the Red Cross.
The attempts to get comments in the Prison Service were futile. –06D—
