E-gates Installed at Baku Airport
Baku / 10.12.19 / Turan: As part of measures to accelerate the process of crossing the state border at the Baku International Airport, two electronic checkpoints (e-gates) have been installed. This is stated in the message of the State Border Service.
Citizens of Azerbaijan who have reached 16 years of age and have biometric passports can pass through e-gates.
The transition through border control via e-gates is as follows:
- A citizen applies a passport to the e-gates scanning window;
- The information of the document and the biometric photo are automatically entered into the database, and if the verification does not reveal involvement in the restrictive lists or any violation, the citizen crosses the border within 30 seconds;
- When a violation is detected, the system signals.
The e-gates are capable of checking 2,897 types of biometric documents from 206 countries, the report said. –06B-
