Masks disappeared again in pharmacies

Baku/18.03.20/Turan: Medical masks again disappeared from the pharmacies of Baku. “Earlier masks worth 10 qepiks could be bought 3-5 times more expensive, now they have completely disappeared. A number of pharmacies sell respirators for 4 manat, but for a family of 4 people it is very expensive, ”a Baku resident told Turan.

Pharmacies in different parts of the capital confirmed the lack of masks on sale. According to pharmacists, masks are imported once every 2-3 days for 50 pieces and they are quickly sold out.

The Turan Ministry of Health said that pharmacies are private entities and the agency cannot interfere with their work.

The Operational Headquarters under the Cabinet of Ministers said they were aware of the shortage of masks.

“We are aware of the shortage of masks in pharmacies and the question will be raised at the level of the relevant structures,” the headquarters answered vaguely.

Attempts to obtain comments from firms involved in the supply of pharmacies and the import of drugs and medicines were futile.

Recently, law enforcement agencies reported the seizure of about 1 million medical masks from speculators. After that, masks appeared in pharmacies. However, in recent days they have disappeared again. -21B-
