To: the President of the Republic of Azerbaijan, esteemed Mr. Ilham Aliyev
Want to Say
Dear Mr. President!
I appealed to you with a letter a week ago, but I'm not sure that the letter came to you, I appeal to you through the press.
My brother Jahangir Hajiyev, deprived of his liberty by the court's decision for a period of 15 years and currently serving his term in jail N13, is systematically subjected to inhuman treatment.
Since September last year, members of his family and me are not allowed to visit him, he was refused a meeting even with lawyers, who are also suspended from work and punished.
My brother"s health is very poor, he suffers from hypertension, Hoşimoto syndrome, and after he was deprived of the opportunity to be treated, these illnesses escalated.
The accusation against the appropriation of a large scale money by him has not been confirmed by the court. But despite this, the publication of accusatory materials continues in the press, ansd he is deprived of the right to reply and the demand for a refutation. After he responded to unsubstantiated, offensive publications in the press in September, he was imprisoned under a fictitious pretext and then further exerted pressure on him.
Jahangir Hajiyev is a person devoted to th state and you. He invested a lot of work and effort in the development of the country's banking sector in the course of your creative activity in the area of economic reform.
Being completely confident in your justice, we ask you to help us to stop the continuing inhuman treatment of my brother Jahangir Hajiyev.
Best regards, Amina Hajiyeva
