US intelligence does not exclude large-scale military conflict between Armenia and Azerbaijan
Baku / 14.02.18 / Turan: Office of the Director of National Intelligence of the United States, Daniel Coates, distributed on February 13 a report: "Assessment of the intelligence community about the world's threats", in which he expressed concern over the possibility of a large-scale conflict between Armenia and Azerbaijan. "The tension of the disputed area of Nagorno-Karabakh can turn into a large-scale military conflict between Armenia and Azerbaijan, which can involve Russia in support of its regional ally," the report said.
Further it is noted that "the reluctance of both sides to compromise, the growing pressure on the domestic market, the steady modernization of the military forces of Azerbaijan, the acquisition of new Russian weapons by Armenia increase the risk of large-scale military operations in 2018."
The 28-page report covers the assessment of various threats around the world, where only those lines were given to the Armenian-Azerbaijani conflict
