Baku / 01.10.20 / Turan: Messages from mercenaries from Syria fighting in Karabakh are a lie, said the press secretary of the Azerbaijani Foreign Ministry Leyla Abdullayeva.
Armenia is behind all this, trying to discredit Azerbaijan in the eyes of the international community. It is the Armenian side that spreads interviews with non-existent people, representing them as Syrians, Abdullayeva said.
Azerbaijan has full-fledged, professional armed forces and does not need the help of external forces, let alone irregular units.
"We again categorically reject these dirty accusations against Azerbaijan and emphasize that the Azerbaijani army does not need any external forces to ensure its territorial integrity," Abdullayeva said.
“There are numerous facts of the use of terrorist groups and mercenaries by Armenia during the occupation of the Nagorno-Karabakh region and adjacent territories of Azerbaijan. Today, the Armenian authorities continue the same policy, widely using extremist elements from the Middle East against Azerbaijan,” Abdullayeva said. — 06D-
