Baku / 12.10.20 / Turan: A missile strike on a residential area of the city of Ganja was carried out by a Scud ballistic missile, said Gazanfar Ahmedov, executive director of the National Agency for Mine Action (ANAMA).

“After collecting and examining all the debris of the rocket fired at the densely populated region of Ganja, we came to the conclusion that this is not Tochka-U, as previously assumed, but a Scud rocket,” Ahmedov said at a briefing for foreign diplomats in Ganja.

According to him, an 8K14 engraving was found on the wreckage of the rocket, which made it possible to determine its type. The missile's range is 300 kilometers, Ahmedov said.

Hikmet Hajiyev, the Assistant to the President of Azerbaijan, called the use of a ballistic missile to fire at the civilian population of a large city "vandalism and a war crime."

Because of the rocket attack on Ganja on the night of October 11, the Armenian Armed Forces, 9 people, including four women, were killed. Thirty four people were injured, a 5-storey residential building was destroyed, and a dozen houses in the district suffered serious damage. -02D-
