Russian Citizen Becomes Victim of Shelling of Ganja

Baku / 24.10.20 / Turan: In the Ganja hospital, 13-year-old Artur Vasilyevich Mayakov died of his wounds. He was wounded as a result of shelling of Ganja on 17 October.

Aide to the President of Azerbaijan Hikmet Hajiyev condemned the shelling of settlements by the Armenian side, which led to casualties among the civilian population, including among children. In particular, he pointed out that 16-year-old Orkhan Rehber Oglu Ismayilzadeh, born in 2004, died as a result of today's shelling by Smerch rockets in the Terter region.

“Despite the efforts of the doctors, Russian citizen Artur Vladimirovich Mayakov (born in 2007), who was injured in the shelling of Ganja by SCUD missiles on October 17, died in the hospital. Artur Mayakov was visiting his aunt in Ganja. The deceased will be buried in accordance with Orthodox Christian religious traditions with the support of the City Executive Power and the Alexander Nevsky Church of the city of Ganja. The Embassy of the Russian Federation in Azerbaijan has been informed about this,” Hajiyev said.

He noted that the Armenian Armed Forces are continuing the policy of state terror, At present, the Armenian Armed Forces continue to fire at the cities of Azerbaijan located on the front line from heavy artillery and other weapons.

Azerbaijan, unlike Armenia, does not aim at civilians.

“We call on the civilians living in the occupied territories of Azerbaijan to stay outside the military facilities ... Azerbaijan is not aimed at the civilian Armenian population. We are ready to provide all humanitarian assistance and support to civilians and military personnel who want to go over to the side of Azerbaijan. The military-political leadership of Armenia fully bears responsibility for war crimes and adventures committed against civilians,” Hajiyev said.

Note that earlier, in the message of the Prosecutor General's Office, the patronymic of Artur Mayakov was indicated as Ramiz Oglu. However, it turned out that the middle name was incorrectly indicated when the boy was admitted to the hospital.
