Baku / 20.11.20 / Turan: The General Prosecutor's Office of Azerbaijan filed a lawsuit on the fact of the use of white phosphorus by the Armenian Armed Forces during the hostilities in Karabakh. On October 8, November 3, 4 and 8, 2020, the Armenian Armed Forces used phosphorus ammunition in the occupied territories of Azerbaijan, as well as in the Terter region, in places of close residence of the civilian population.

In addition, chemical munitions were used to inflict large-scale and long-term harm to the environment and destroy people in the villages of Fizuli (Arayalty, Alkhanly) and Terter (Sekhlebad), as well as around the city of Shusha.

In particular, the use of at least six 122-mm D-4 shells was established, each of which contained 3.6 kg of the chemical P-4 (white phosphorus), which caused great damage to natural resources and is regarded as terrorism. In connection with these facts, on November 20, 2020, criminal cases were initiated under Articles 100.2 (waging an aggressive war) and 214.4 (terrorism) of the Criminal Code of Azerbaijan, the country's Prosecutor General's Office said. -02D-
