Military of CSTO Countries to Work Out Actions during Border Conflict in Caucasus
Baku / 15.08.20 / Turan: The member countries of the Collective Security Treaty (includes Russia, Armenia, Belarus, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan and Tajikistan) will hold special exercises from 17 to 20 August, the RG reports.
According to the press secretary of the CSTO Joint Staff Vladislav Shchegrikovich, the exercises are intended so that the military can work out the issues of material and technical support during a joint operation to localize the border armed conflict in the Caucasus region.
The exercises will be held in the Astrakhan region at the Kapustin Yar training ground under the leadership of Lieutenant General Viktor Voronov, deputy commander of the Southern Military District for logistics.
It is noteworthy that the exercises are held a month after Armenia attacked Azerbaijan on the Tovuz section of the state border and did not stop shelling Azerbaijani positions here.
In this sense, the anti-Azerbaijani orientation of the exercises is obvious. -0-
