Baku/11.10.21/Turan: In recent days, the issue of the need to open the Azerbaijani embassy in Israel has been actively discussed in social networks.

“We considered Iran a brotherly country and a good neighbor, but the events of recent days have shown inappropriate behavior on the part of Tehran, military exercises and a demonstration of force along the borders with Azerbaijan. All this gave rise to a lot of questions,"  the MP Elman Nasirov told Turan. He called Tehran's accusations about the deployment of some Israeli objects and forces on the Azerbaijani side groundless.

“Until now, Azerbaijan has not opened an embassy in Israel, but Armenia, friendly to Iran, has done it,” the MP said. That is why the issue of opening the Azerbaijani embassy has been actualized, and this is the sovereign right of Azerbaijan, he said.

“Until now, we have taken into account that Iran will not like it and should not spoil relations with Tehran. However, during the Second Karabakh War, Iran was engaged in supporting Armenia, and Israel helped us. After the end of the war, Iran is supporting the Karabakh separatists,” the MP said.

Political scientist Arastun Orujlu considers it strange that Iran does not put pressure on Armenia and Georgia, which have embassies in Israel.

The actualization of this issue in Azerbaijan is a kind of retaliatory measure against Tehran's pro-Armenian policy. “We don't need someone's permission for this,” Orujlu said.-0-
