Is a seal killer in the Caspian the poisonous fuel of Russian missiles?
Baku/05.12.22/Turan: Two days ago, Russian media reported the discovery of up to a thousand carcasses of dead seals on the Dagestan coast of the Caspian Sea. Later this figure rose to 1700, and on Sunday the number of dead seals rose to 2500. The reason for the death of the animals is unknown.
An interesting version of the death of the seals was expressed by the Russian columnist Yulia Latynina. She believes that animals are dying because of poisonous fuel. Russian missiles fired by Tu-160 and Tu-95 bombers towards Ukraine from the Caspian region.
Because old rockets are used, some of them often fail to start their engines. To prevent these missiles from exploding when they fall to the ground, launches are made over the sea and the defective missile quietly falls into the Caspian Sea, she believes.
The rocket fuel is one of the most toxic and its disposal has always been a serious problem.
At one time, US Senator Richard Lugar implemented a special project to collect rocket fuel in the former Soviet republics from old Soviet missiles left there for its safe processing, since the newly independent countries did not have the appropriate technologies and equipment.
In favor of the version of the death of seals from poisonous fuel is the fact that their mass death was recorded several times after the start of the war between Russia and Ukraine. So this summer, 837 carcasses of dead animals were thrown onto the Kazakhstani coast.
From March 31 to May 2, 832 dead seals were found on the coast of the Mangistau region of Kazakhstan.
In previous years, the death of seals also took place, but not so massive. The analysis showed that 70% of the dead animals had changes in the immune system. In 100% of animals, infection of the blood and organs was detected. In some cases, plague viruses were the cause.
This animal is listed in the Red Book and according to the latest data, their number ranges from 43 to 66 thousand. ---02D---

At the heart of this discourse lies the country's tenuous relationship with the principles espoused by the Council of Europe, particularly concerning human rights and political freedoms.
