"Starlink" established subsidiary in Azerbaijan
Baku/30.12.22/Turan: "Starlink Azerbaijan" LLC, a subsidiary of American satellite Internet provider "Starlink", was registered in Baku on November 1.
According to the State Registry of Commercial Legal Entities, the company's office is located in "Azure Business Centre".
Senior director for "Starlink" business operations in SpaceX, Lauren Dreyer has been appointed manager of the company.
Note that "Starlink" is aiming for service in Azerbaijan starting in 2023.
It has to be kept in mind that the availability is dependent on regulatory approvals. Within each service area, orders are taken on a first-come, first-served basis. The company has started accepting orders and a deposit ($99) for "Starlink" booking.
Recall that "Starlink" provides high-speed broadband Internet access with low latency worldwide. President of "Azerbaijan Internet Forum NGO" Osman Gunduz positively evaluates the appearance of "Starlink" in Azerbaijan as an alternative source of access to the Internet.
In a conversation with Turan he pointed out that the experience of Ukraine and other countries has confirmed that "Starlink" is indispensable in crisis situations. When it comes to Azerbaijan, its services may be useful in the liberated from occupation areas, as in the civil and military purposes. -08B-
