Baku/11.09.22/Turan: Following the presentation of the Investigation Department of the General Prosecutor's Office of Azerbaijan, the Binagadi District Court of Baku decided to arrest journalist Avaz Zeynalli for a period of 4 months. Lawyer Elchin Sadigov was also arrested for the same period.

311.3.3 of the Criminal Code of Zeynalli (accepting a large amount of bribe), and Sadigov 32.5, 311 (assistance in accepting a bribe).

According to their lawyers, the prosecutor's office started the criminal prosecution based on the information published in the mass media, and there is no specific complainant in the case.

Sadigov and Zeynalli deny the accusations and associate criminal prosecution with their professional activities.

Both of them refused to testify to the investigation, considering the criminal case to be a fabrication.

According to Laij, Zeynalli does not plead guilty.
