Megrin corridor is an important factor of stabilization in the South Caucasus - Deputy Foreign Minister of the Russian Federation
Baku/09.10.23/Turan: The opening a transport corridor from the western regions of Azerbaijan to the Nakhchivan Autonomous Republic through Armenia would be "an important factor in the overall stabilization in Transcaucasia," the Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Russian Federation Mikhail Galuzin said in an interview with RBC.
In the event of the opening this corridor, which Galuzin calls "Meghri", Armenia "will have the opportunity to become a transport and logistics hub, strengthen and expand its transport links with Azerbaijan, Turkey and Russia."
"Azerbaijan will have the opportunity of uninterrupted rhythmic transport communication between the two parts of the country. And the overall stabilization of the situation in Transcaucasia will serve to strengthen the foundations of trust between Armenia and Azerbaijan for the future. So we are determined to further promote these consultations within the framework of the trilateral working group," Galuzin said. ---06B---
