Psychological pressure on Gubad Ibadoglu continues - brother

Baku/11.08.23/Turan: Over the past 20 days of arrest of opposition politician and academic economist Gubad Ibadoglu, his blood sugar and blood pressure have been steadily rising, which significantly worsens his condition. This was reported to Turan by his brother Galib Bayramov.

Besides, the nervous stress caused by the arrest has led to aggravation of thyroid goitre, kidney and other organ problems, and the vision in his left eye has also deteriorated significantly," Bayramov said.

Also, he pointed out that Ibadoglu is not allowed to visits from his loved ones, nor call his children, read books and magazines.  "Psychological pressure on Gubad Ibadoglu continues," Bayramov said.

The prison service could not be reached for comment.

** In June, Ibadoglu, together with the head of the National Council Professor Jamil Hasanli and disgraced diplomat Arif Mammadov, who is in political exile in Europe, announced the creation of the Foundation for Education of Azerbaijani Youth, which was registered in London.

Ibadoglu took the initiative to confiscate the property of Azerbaijani officials abroad and transfer these funds to the said Foundation. -16В06-
